Hello and Welcome!
Located in the beautiful region of ‘’La Petite-Nation’’, our orchard focuses on the production and discovery of hardy apple varieties for U-2-Pick. We currently have close to 30 varieties of various fruit bearing trees (apples, plums, and pears).
We started planting apple trees in 1994. We have continued to plant new varieties every year since then, expanding gradually. Our orchard now covers 4 hectares. Our trees are of the dwarf and semi dwarf statures.
The orchard is divided into two blocks. In the south portion, you can find scab-resistant varieties; scab is the main disease in apple production. These varieties do not require as many applications of fungicides. Some of these varieties are Richelieu, Liberty, Freedom, Priscilla and RedFree. The northern side is cultivated with conventional apple varieties such as McIntosh, Lobo and Cortland.
For pest control, we have adopted integrated pest management (IPM) practices. IPM proposes a number of ways to effectively control pests in an economic way while minimizing the impact on the environment. The use of natural practices is prioritized and decisions regarding the use of chemical products are based on threshold levels of the pest populations.
In 2008, we started to make hard ciders. We made now five types of sweets and hard ciders.
Hope to have your visit.
