Apple crisp
Prep time: 30 minutes Baking time: 30 to 45 minutes Portions: 8
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2 cups oat flakes
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup butter
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
10 average size apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/3 cup sugar (to be adjusted according to preference and tartness of apples)
1 Tsp lemon juice (optional)
Steps:
1. Mix apples, sugar and lemon juice.
2. Put the apple mix in a slightly greased baking dish.
3. In a bowl, mix all the other ingredients with a fork.
4. Pour this mix over the apples.
5. Bake at 375 F (190C) for 30 to 45 minutes. When it's done the apples should be
soft and the topping golden and crisp.
Muffins with apples
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
½ cup brown sugar
1 Tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup nuts, chunked
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup apples, raped
